Our Mission
Our mission is to improve the physical and mental health of the people of the city through local medical systems with the objective of blessings and environmental balance that helps in the survival of the individual by cultivating and utilizing medicinal plants in the natural environment.
Objective
The main role of this Department is to increase the physical and mental health of the people living in the Kandy Urban Area by cultivating medicinal plants in the natural environment and producing medicines using them and providing free treatment services. It is our daily routine to examine patients, provide necessary advice and treat them. Apart from this, panchakarma unit has been introduced as another aspect of providing necessary remedies to protect the health of a healthy person.

Gatambe Ayurvedic Drug Manufacturing Plant
All the medicines required for 11 urban Ayurvedic dispensaries, Katukale Special Clinic and other mobile clinics and outlets are produced with standard standard. This is the heart tax-worthy functional unit of the Department of Ayurveda, which is very useful for the functioning of all the dispensaries of the Department of Ayurveda very well. Modern machinery is used to produce oils, quails, powders, powders, flaxseeds, etc. Procurement of raw medicines at a high standard is carried out through tender system.
Panchakarma Unit
Panchakarma Unit provides a system of treatment to the people used to cure the disease of the sick people as well as to maintain the health of the healthy people for a long time. Treatment methods such as Physical Thailanga Massage, Head Massage, Physical Sveda Karma (Steam Sveda), Nadi Sveda Karma, Nasna Sveda, Katha Vasti are used here.
Herb Gardens
Some of the raw materials for production are supplied from these herb gardens. These herb gardens are widely used for the study of school children and for the development of the knowledge of local medicine groups.
It is planned to provide medicines produced only at the Gatambe Drug Factory at a subsidized price to the people from this shop.
