The Public Relations and Welfare Department of Kandy Municipal Council held the annual Scholarship Mock Seminar (Sinhala Medium) for children sitting for the Scholarship Examination in Kandy City on 19th July 2026 at the Kandy Post Auditorium.
The program was inaugurated under the patronage of the Mayor of Kandy, Mr. Chandrasiri Wijayanayaka. Also in attendance were Chairperson of the Public Relations and Welfare Committee, Municipal Councillor Fathuma Masthura, and Municipal Councillors Madhura Ranjith, E.L.M. Sahabdeen, Samanthi Perera, and Nihal Ranjith.
More than 500 children representing schools in Kandy City participated in this program. The seminar was organized by the Public Relations staff including Public Relations and Welfare Officer Ms. Shammi Wijerathna of the Kandy Municipal Council.
