In line with the National Dengue Control Program, the Kandy Municipal Council organized a Shramadana program in Aniwwatta and Dodamwala.
The program was held under the leadership of the Mayor of Kandy, Mr. Chandrasiri Wijayanayaka, with the participation of the Municipal Council, the Health Department, the Department of Solid Waste Management, the Industries Department of Kandy Municipal Council, and other officials.
This Shramadana campaign was organized covering an area of 6 kilometers, including Dodamwala and Aniwwatta.
Dengue control programs are being carried out covering 45 Grama Niladhari divisions of the Kandy Municipal Council area. This special program was launched as a high number of patients were reported from this area.
Alongside the Shramadana programs, steps were also taken to educate the public and to take legal action against households and businesses that act negligently.
