An awareness program on the theme "Kandy Municipal Council's Contribution Towards a Civilized Culture" for the Municipal Council and officers was held on 2026.08.02 at the Karaliya Theatre. The resource person was Mr. Lalith Dasanayaka, Director (Planning) of the Chief Secretary's Office, Central Province. The Mayor of Kandy Mr. Chandrasiri Wijayanayaka, Deputy Mayor Mr. Ruwan Galapitiya along with a group of Municipal Councillors, Municipal Commissioner Mrs. Indika Kumari Abeysinghe and Assistant Municipal Commissioner Mrs. Harshika Weerarathna along with the municipal staff participated in this program.
