The distribution of T-SHIRTS to the male and female employees of the Municipal Solid Waste Management staff who are engaged in special duties during the Kandy Esala Perahera season, for use during duty, was sponsored by the Development Lottery Board this year as well, as it is done every year.

The distribution of T-SHIRTS to the male and female employees of the Municipal Solid Waste Management staff who are engaged in special duties during the Kandy Esala Perahera season, was held today, 18th August 2026, at the Kandy Town Hall, under the sponsorship of the Development Lottery Board, as it is done every year. The consignment of T-SHIRTS was officially handed over to Mr. Chandrasiri Wijayanayaka, Mayor of Kandy, by Mr. Upali Saman Kumara, Kandy District Manager of the Development Lottery Board. Mrs. Indika Kumari Abeysinghe, Municipal Commissioner of Kandy, Mr. Namal Dhammika Dissanayake, Municipal Mechanical Engineer and Head of the Solid Waste Section, Mr. Chandana Abeyrathna, Sanitation Superintendent, along with a group of staff members from the department, were also present at the event.
