Annually inspecting and verifying whether every business run in the municipal jurisdiction is run in a manner that is not harmful to the health of the public and giving necessary instructions and making corrections related to institutions that are not.
Eligibility
Having forwarded the application to the Health Department to obtain an annual license to run a commercial business issued by the mixed income section of the Kandy Municipality.

Application for obtaining trade license signed by the applicant and the information provided by the Revenue Inspector and signed by the Municipal Accountant.

Procedure for making recommendations
Submitting the annual trade license application to the Health Department as examined and recommended by the Revenue Inspector of the Mixed Revenue Division.
Giving to the public health inspector in charge of the field.
Inspection of the place of business by the Public Health Inspector.
Giving recommendations on running the business.
Considering the relevant recommendation and giving recommendations by the Medical Officer of Health.
If the recommendation is not given, give the necessary instructions and make corrections and give recommendations.
Referral of trade licenses to the mixed income section for further work.
